New Sheffield United striker Clayton Donaldson paid his respects to Birmingham City fans with a heartfelt message to supporters following his move to the Blades on deadline day.
The big Jamaican striker completed a last minute switch to Sheffield from the Blues, with many surprised to see a deal for the 33-year-old sanctioned by Harry Redknapp. However, in a report by the Birmingham Mail, it was revealed Donaldson has left with the utmost respect both for and from fans at St Andrews.
Speaking of his time with the Midlands club, Donaldson thanked all the fans and staff at the club for being ‘amazing’ and wished the club all the best for the future.
Donaldson had become a bit of a cult hero for the Blues following his move from Brentford in 2014, with his work rate, goals, and all round commitment endearing him to the Birmingham faithful.
However, new horizons beckon for Donaldson, who will be hoping to fire Sheffield United to a second successive promotion and no doubt build a solid forward partnership with star striker Billy Sharp.
Blades and Blues fans, what do you think to this? Will Donaldson work out for the Blades? Let us know!
