Barnsley have made Samuel Radlinger their fifth signing of the summer, and it is a signing which some fans weren't expecting.

The German has big shoes to fill. Captain Adam Davies has left for Stoke and he was a key performer for The Tykes last season, so Radlinger will have to hit the ground running if he is to make a positive impression on the Barnsley faithful.

The 6'5" keeper is an unknown quantity to many fans in the EFL, but he is a player Daniel Stendel knows well having worked with him during his spell at Hannover.

The 26-year-old spent last season on loan in Norway with SK Brann, and impressed by keeping 11 clean sheets in 22 games. If he can bring the same stability to Barnsley he should prove an effective signing.

Naturally, there is mixed reaction from Barnsley fans on Twitter. Whilst some are pleased with what they believe to be a good signing, others are perplexed.
