Leeds United will be preparing for life in the Premier League under the management of Marcelo Bielsa, after they clinched promotion from the Championship.

The Whites finished this year's campaign top of the table, and an impressive ten points clear of second-place West Brom, as they made a long-awaited return to the top-flight.

One player that played a key role in their promotion-winning season for the Whites was defender Liam Cooper, who was a regular in the starting XI for Bielsa's side.

The Leeds captain made 38 appearances in total during the 2019/20 campaign, and formed a hugely impressive partnership with Brighton and Hove Albion loanee Ben White.

Leeds have returned to pre-season training ahead of the new league season, and Cooper will be hoping he can pick up where he left off.

Cooper took to Twitter following the return to training, and revealed that he had never felt better, which will be pleasing to hear for the club's supporters.

The Verdict:

It's good to see he's raring to go.

Cooper really impressed me in Leeds' promotion-winning season, and he'll have to be at the top of his game to help Leeds whilst they're in the Premier League.

It's not going to be easy for Marcelo Bielsa's side at all though, and it'll be interesting to see whether they add much-needed depth to their squad.

They definitely need to find a replacement for Ben White, as he'll leave a sizeable void in the heart of the Leeds defence after returning to Brighton from his loan spell at Elland Road.
