‘Nervous’ – Many Derby County fans torn over player’s appearance v QPR

Derby County fans have given their verdict on keeper Ben Hamer after he replaced Kelle Roos in the weekend draw with Queens Park Rangers.

Hamer arrived on loan from Huddersfield in the summer after former keeper Scott Carson left for Manchester City but playing time has been hard to come by with Kelle Roos playing as the first choice keeper.

Roos, however, has been inconsistent and doubts have been raised of late, resulting in Hamer’s selection on Saturday.

It was Hamer’s second appearance for the club after keeping a clean sheet on his debut against Scunthorpe United in the Carabao Cup earlier this season.

Manager Phillip Cocu now has a decision to make on who will start against Blackburn this coming weekend but he could be torn on who to select like the club’s fans are.

When asked ‘What did everyone think to Ben Hamer’s performance yesterday?’ on Facebook supporters group DCFC-ITS IN OUR DNA, many fans reacted with different views on the keeper’s showing.

27-year-old Roos was given a chance at Derby last season under Frank Lampard but conceding 24 goals in 18 saw Hamer given a shot in between the sticks against QPR.
