Cardiff City head coach Neil Warnock has taken a sly dig at Birmingham City, following the Blues' 0-0 draw to Swansea City on Friday.

According to Birmingham Live, the 69-year-old manager, whose side played out a 0-0 draw with Newcastle United in the Premier League on Saturday, seemed to take aim at Garry Monk’s side.

Warnock stated: “No disrespect, but having watched Birmingham last night, thank goodness we came out to a full house to play Newcastle in the Premier League."

Whilst the Birmingham City game didn’t have the red card and penalty incident filled entertainment of the Blue Birds fixture, it seemed an odd move by the veteran manager.

Monk’s side will feel they should have taken all three points against Graham Potter’s outfit, having had 17 shots at the Swansea goal, with Lukas Jutkiewicz, Jacques Maghoma and Omar Bogle all missing wonderful opportunities to snatch all three points.

The Verdict

Neil Warnock, who helped guide Cardiff City to the Premier League last season, failed to congratulate his goal keeper on saving a game deciding penalty, but did remember to have a dig at Garry Monk’s side.

The Cardiff City head coach’s side also failed to score or win their weekend fixture, making the situation a whole lot odder.

Birmingham City have somewhat struggled so far this season, but will certainly take positives from their match against Swansea City.
