Neil Warnock has made it no secret that he is dissatisfied with the standard of Cardiff City's squad.

This was made very clear when he drafted in four free agents - Marouane Chamakh, Sol Bamba, Kieran Richardson and Junior Hoilett - within a week of taking the job in South Wales.

It is a case of sell to buy though at Cardiff and Neil Warnock will have to be shrewd with his January business.

Cardiff are in trouble at the moment and are deeply stuck in a relegation dogfight.

They sit in 23rd spot - second bottom only to the hapless Rotherham United - but there are a number of clubs in a similar position and a couple of wins would surely lift them out of the drop zone.

Warnock might look to reunite with players that he's worked with before this January to help guide Cardiff to safety.

Here are 2 suggestions of such players that Warnock could look at.

Fraizer Campbell

This move works well for many different reasons.

Campbell worked with Warnock at Crystal Palace and he also had his best spell of his career at Cardiff City.

The 29-year-old striker will surely be seeking a move away from Selhurst Park as he is out of favour and a return to Cardiff would be ideal for both parties.

Joe Newell

Rotherham midfielder Joe Newell was one of Warnock's star men as he kept Rotherham afloat in the Championship last season.

With the Millers already looking like a hopeless case, Newell might fancy re-joining Warnock for another relegation scrap.

The versatile 23-year-old operates anywhere across the defence or midfield and would add a good squad option to the Cardiff roster.
