Neil Warnock set to take Nottingham Forest job

Published

Neil Warnock is being lined up to replace Billy Davies as Nottingham Forest manager, according to the Daily Mail.

There is mass speculation that Billy Davies faces the axe at the City ground, especially after their 5-0 humiliation to bitter local rivals Derby.

Forest owner Fawaz- Al-Hasawi is considering calling on Warnock after seeing his Forest side go seven games without a win.

Davies has caused problems from the sidelines after his confrontation with referee Anthony Taylor during a match against Leicester City, leaving the Scotsman with a five-match ban.

Forest’s promotion hopes are slipping dramatically as a result of their dreadful form, they now lie one place outside the play-off places, and the Forest owners believe they need to sort it out quickly to maintain their promotion aspirations.

Warnock has won seven promotions as manager and is expected to be offered the job at the City ground until the end of the season, should Davies be sacked.
