Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock has revealed that he will not be signing Allan McGregor despite the goalkeeper’s impressive contributions since joining on loan from Hull City, according to The Daily Record.
Neil Warnock has admitted that wages are a major stumbling block in any potential permanent deal.
Hull City goalkeeper Allan McGregor joined Cardiff on loan during the January transfer window and his arrival coincided with the defence shoring up and Cardiff shooting up the table.
The Scotland international found himself behind Eldin Jakupovic and former Cardiff star David Marshall at Hull so he joined the Bluebirds on loan.
When asked about a possible permanent deal, Warnock conceded that it was unlikely and said:
“I could have four keepers on Allan’s wages.
“I can’t blame him, he’s in the Premier League, but it’s looking very unlikely.”
Warnock admitted that McGregor has been “super” for Cardiff but they will be looking to bring in two other goalkeepers in January.
