Cardiff City will look to continue their marvellous season when they face Norwich City at home tomorrow night.

A win would move the Bluebirds to within one point of leaders Wolves and more importantly it would extend their lead over third place for at least 24 hours.

With promotion now a realistic aim, Neil Warnock will want to use the January transfer window to beef up his squad ahead of a demanding second half of the season.

With the likes of Aston Villa and Derby County among the chasing pack who are sure to strengthen, the experienced manager will understand the importance of making the right additions.

And, Wales Online reports how Warnock told fans at a Q and A that they shouldn’t expect many arrivals. “Unless somebody left I can’t envisage bringing someone else in. But if somebody cropped up who we wanted to sign and who would make us a better team, I would play it by ear.”

If I wanted someone in particular I would ask, obviously Vincent (Tan) has the last should but I don’t think there’s any need to do that.”

The Verdict

Cardiff fans will understand how the situation is as at the moment, after the club barely spent in the summer.

However, Warnock has proven that you don’t need to have the biggest budget to succeed and the work he is doing with the Welsh side is fantastic.

Although, this could be their downfall. If the owner really did back his manager now then it could be seen as a calculated risk and with more flexibility you’d back Warnock to take Cardiff up. Unfortunately, that doesn’t look like happening, but it doesn’t mean they can’t make the top two.
