It has been a miserable start to the season for Cardiff City – recording just two wins in their opening 11 games.

They sit second bottom of the league and their confidence has vanished in a blink of an eye from the Bluebirds’ dressing room.

However, there is some light at the end of the tunnel after landing their prime managerial target this week in Neil Warnock, who succeeds Paul Trollope after losing his job after just five months.

There were many delighted faces among the Bluebirds supporters with the 67-year-old's arrival, and they will be hoping that Warnock is the man that can replicate his form in his 16 game spell with Rotherham United last season.

There is no doubt that during the international break, Warnock will deeply analyse where the problems are lying in the Cardiff squad and it is likely he will make some big changes by the time they face their Severnside neighbours Bristol City next weekend.

Football League World Writer, Ashley Williams identifies TWO player that Warnock must drop from every game from now on…

Lex Immers

After the Dutch forward decided to stay at the Welsh capital this season, the supporters were delighted after a fine second half to last season – scoring five goals in 15 appearances during a loan spell from Feyenoord.

However, Immers has completely lost his way and looks nowhere near the standard of last season.

One possible explanation for Immers' dramatic dip in form is that Paul Trollope did not find a formation which suits the wiry Dutchman.

He has started in recent weeks, but his confidence has drained enormously, and under Warnock, he is unlikely to feature as much.

Matthew Connolly

Maybe a controversial decision to drop Connolly, but he has been very poor this season and also looks drained of confidence since being crowned the player of the year last season.

It is probably time for him to sit out over the next few weeks and let Manga have a run in the side alongside Morrison.

If wins start to pick up for the Welsh club, then the side will collectively grow in morale and then Connolly should be given the opportunity to fight for the starting spot at centre back.
