Neil Warnock thinks that Neil Harris has been the best manager in the Championship this season.

The Cardiff manager received the award recently even though there are still games remaining in the league.

His side are currently in the second automatic promotion spot, but poor performances in the last two games mean they have only picked up one point out of a potential six. This has allowed in-form side Fulham to close the gap to two points, although the Bluebirds have a game in hand against Derby.

Cardiff have surprised many with a season which has surpassed all expectations, but they will be desperate to secure an automatic promotion spot with just five games remaining as well as the fact that that they have been in that position for a significant amount of time.

Neil Warnock had this to say about the Manager of the Year award in an interview with Sky Sports: "I voted for Neil Harris."

"If Millwall win their next five or six games and won the play-offs and promotion then there's only one winner in my opinion, even though it would be my biggest ever achievement if I got promotion."

The Verdict

This is a modest reaction from Warnock, but he is right to point out the success of Harris especially considering the tiny budget that the Lions have in comparison to some of the other Championship clubs. Although Warnock's achievement is still impressive nonetheless.

Cardiff's recent form does highlight the strange decision to have the voting for a major individual accolade before the season has even finished. A lot can still change and that isn't taken into account with the timing of the votes.
