Reports from Wales Online have revealed that league leaders Cardiff will not be selling their striker Kenneth Zohore ‘for any price’ following interest from Premier League side Everton.

This revelation comes just 24 hours after the Bluebirds rejected the Merseyside club’s enquiry about the availability of the striker.

The Danish forward caught the eye of the big spending Premier League club after scoring 12 goals in 29 league appearances last season but Neil Warnock has made it clear Zohore will not be leaving with this hands-off warning.

The Welsh club have begun the 2017/18 campaign in excellent form, winning all five of their opening games as they look to regain promotion back into the Premier League for the first time since 2014.

The report suggests that Warnock sees Zohore as an integral part of the club’s promotion push and that only ‘silly money’ would tempt the veteran manager into selling the 23-year-old.

So far this season, Zohore has scored one goal and provided two assists in the opening five league games.

The Verdict

Respect to Neil Warnock for standing strong and respect to Kenneth Zohore for, as of right now, not trying to force through a move.

Time and time again, Premier League clubs can tempt players away from first team football in the Championship with the offer of higher wages and playing for a more prestigious club.

The majority of the time however, the player never plays and his career stagnates in the top flight.

At only 23-years of age, Zohore has plenty of time to develop as a striker and getting first team football in Cardiff is only going to further that development.

Warnock is right, the Dane can play a big role in Cardiff’s promotion push this season.
