Speaking to Wales Online, Neil Warnock has admitted that he is likely to turn to the January transfer window to bolster his Cardiff City squad, with the Bluebirds boss confirming he has his eye on targets already.

Cardiff have made a fantastic start to the 2017/18 campaign, and heading into the festive period are looking to strengthen their position in the race for automatic promotion.

The Bluebirds currently sit second only to Wolves, but Warnock is facing a number of injury concerns heading into a crucial period, with some key figures on the sidelines, including Kenneth Zohore.

Warnock has confirmed that he is likely to turn to the January transfer window, admitting that he already has his eye on a number of targets heading into the New Year, he said: “Injuries do change it.

“We’ll look to possibly loan, it’s a difficult to buy in this window unless money is no object - like it is for one or two clubs.

“There are four, five or six players I’m looking at who aren’t involved in their clubs. And every one of them could do a job for us."

The Bluebirds currently have 44 points from their opening 21 fixtures of the season, with Warnock’s side putting together a five-match unbeaten run to maintain their place inside the top-two.

Last time out Cardiff put in a spirited performance to bounce back from two goals down to pick up a vital point against Reading.

Warnock’s side are back in action tomorrow evening, welcoming Hull City to the Cardiff City Stadium.

The Verdict

Whilst it is common knowledge that the January transfer window is a difficult month to deal in, Cardiff’s supporters will be encouraged to hear that Warnock will look to strengthen in January.

Injuries are mounting in Wales, and Warnock will have to make good use of the window to strengthen his squad, who are looking to achieve an unlikely promotion.

What Cardiff do in the New Year could make or break their season.
