Rotherham United manager Neil Redfearn has said that Leeds United need some stability after they sacked Uwe Rosler after a poor start to the season, reports ITV.

Rosler replaced Redfearn as the Whites' head coach but he has been removed from his position after just 11 Championship games in charge of the club, making him the latest managerial casualty of owner Massimo Cellino.

The 50-year old was Leeds' was the club's third permanent manager when he was given the role full-time in November of last year, and he says that stability is essential if the club are to reach the heights that their fans demand.

Speaking to ITV, Redfearn said: "I don't want to comment too much on what's happening, but to build anything or to create anything you need stability.

"It's probably frustrating for Uwe because he will have had his plans and put things in place as did I last year and got them a certain situation where you think you can take them on. But they do it as they want to do it.

"I have got a lot of friends at Leeds and I wish them every success apart from when they play us."

The former midfielder is clearly sympathetic towards Rosler's situation as he was in a similar situation earlier this year, before he was told that his contract would not be renewed and that he would be replaced by the German.

Redfearn is now the manger of Rotherham and the favourite for the Leeds job is Steve Evans, ironically the man that Redfearn replaced at the New York Stadium.

Steve Evans faces a monumental task of turning around the fortunes at Elland Road, as the club currently sit in lowly 18th position in the Sky Bet Championship.

The Yorkshire club seem bereft of any confidence and have lost three consecutive matches in the league - and this is something that the potential new Leeds United boss will be eager to resurrect.

Leeds fans.....What do you make of Redfearn's comments? Is stability what you need more than anything now? Is Cellino's persistent chopping and changing the reason you haven't been able to form a promotion push? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
