When Neil Lennon arrived at Bolton Wanderers many thought he would put the Trotters back on the map, given his successful spell north of the border managing Scottish giants Celtic.

One of those hopefuls was the man himself who has admitted that the job is harder than he initially anticipated.

Lennon has come in for a certain amount of criticism from a small section of Bolton fans but he has vowed to win his doubters over as he looks to achieve success with the Lancashire-based club.

The Trotters are on a downward spiral at present and currently languish in the bottom three of the Championship.

This past week he spoke about the task in hand to the Daily Record.

He said: “This season has been a bit up and down if you look at the facts.

“When you come from a club like Celtic you are used to it being smooth, with strength in depth and a bit of money to spend. At Bolton it has been different and that adjustment has been slow but it is the job that I am dealt with. Everyone is in the same boat.

“I don’t like losing. You never get used to that. That is just the nature of the personality that I am. It is difficult to accept but it is the reality of how difficult this league is.”

Life doesn’t get any easier for Bolton or Lennon and they face a difficult trip to Burnley this Saturday attempting to secure three points, which could see them depart the relegation zone.

Bolton fans… Is Lennon still the man to take you forward? Will he last the season? Will Bolton still be a Championship club come May? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
