Neil Harris has a decision to make ahead of this weekend’s televised fixture at home to Blackburn Rovers.

Millwall go into the game on the back of three successive wins in the league, and four in all competitions.

Lee Gregory and Shaun Hutchinson remain sidelined with their respective injuries, but the Lions boss will have a selection dilemma regardless.

Despite the pair’s absence for tomorrow’s meeting with Rovers, four loan players have returned to the club and will all be looking to be included.

Tom King and Sid Nelson have arrived back at Calmont Road after loans with AFC Wimbledon and Swindon Town respectively.

Arguably the two more likely to feature this weekend are Ben Thompson, who enjoyed a fruitful time at League One leaders Portsmouth, and Fred Onyedinma, who had time at Wycombe Wanderers.

Harris’ options have increased significantly since the cup win over Hull City last weekend and he now has a choice to make as to whether he should include of the loan returnees at The Den.

In an interview with NewsAtDen Harris explained the position he finds himself in and discussed the options he has available to him.

“It’s a lovely position to be in,” Harris said.

“We’ve got players in form, players who have come into the team and played well, players that have come back from loans and regular football and are going to want to play.

“So, I’ve got some very tough decisions moving forward. It’s a position that the majority of Championship managers have, we’ve not always had that luxury.

“It’s a position I want to be in the second half of the season. We had it last year in the second half of the season. When people are playing well, then decisions can be easy.

“If they’re achieving what their goals are, set by me, then they should continue playing.”

The Verdict

This is a pretty rare position Harris finds himself in, having a plethora of options to choose from instead of having a rigid number of players to choose from.

Ben Thompson was arguably the top Millwall performer out on loan, and there is a case for his immediate inclusion this weekend.

Fred Onyedinma is back at The Den with several fans excited about his return.

Harris has a tough decision to make as to stick with the same matchday squad that has seen his side win three in a row in the league, or change it up to include some in-form returnees.
