Neil Harris says Millwall are the best visiting team Leeds United have hosted this season after the weekend's Championship clash at Elland Road.

The Lions took the lead twice on Saturday, but eventually lost 3-2 after a late fightback from the hosts, which saw them move back above Sheffield United and into the automatic promotion places.

Ben Marshall put the Lions 2-1 in front in the second half, but the visitors were pegged back by Luke Ayling's header, before Pablo Hernandez struck the winner late on.

However, despite the result, Harris was pleased with his side's performance and believes that Millwall are the best team Leeds have faced at home all season.

“So many people said afterwards that we were the best team they had seen there this season. They couldn’t believe how good we were," said Harris, as quoted by South London Press and Mercury.

“But at the end of the day we haven’t got the points. It’s nice to get plaudits but we have to make sure we come the right side of results over the next eight games," added the Lions boss.

“That is three top performances in a row against three very tough opponents. If we keep our performances as high then the wins will come."

Millwall are currently 21st in the Championship table, just one point above the relegation zone, but do have a game in hand on the other teams battling to avoid the drop.

Meanwhile, Marcelo Bielsa's Leeds are back into the automatic promotion places, two points ahead of second-placed Sheffield United and five points behind leaders Norwich City.

The Verdict

Harris can take plenty of positives away from his side's display at Elland Road but ultimately, he is right - his side have to start winning games.

Millwall have to start turning these encouraging performances into results if they are to remain in the division, starting with next game against West Brom.
