Cardiff City manager Neil Harris has stated that he is looking to use the transfer window to get rid of some of the players who are not reaching the standards that he demands.

The Bluebirds put on a horror show down in West London for their supporters and lost the game in embarrassing fashion, going down 6-1 to Mark Warburton's QPR side.

Cardiff currently sit in 12th place in the Championship table and have an FA Cup game with Carlisle before taking on Swansea in a massive rivalry.

Harris has expressed his disappointment and anger to the squad and has stated that the players must start looking at themselves as a collective whole.

Speaking to Dai Sport, Harris said: "We were looking to try to get some players out to free up opportunities to get some in.

“The players have highlighted today that some of them can’t reach the standards that I demand.

“I’ve come into a group where they have a great reputation as individuals and at times as a group. Well, at times I don’t see it.

“The players need to look at themselves individually and collectively – there are some big names – and say, do they do enough? Do they want it enough? Do they do enough for the football club?”

The Verdict

It was a really devastating defeat for Harris and his side, and there really was hardly anyone who featured in the game that was worth getting excited over.

Harris will know that he has to now find a way of picking up his team and using this January window to try and make them fit enough and better in order to compete for a place in the top six this season.

Cardiff's next game is absolutely massive, and they really have to get a win against Swansea otherwise supporters may already be beginning to voice their discontent to the new manager.
