Millwall slumped to their seventh defeat in 13 matches last weekend when they were seen off by Reading.

And manager Neil Harris has revealed he is starting to “run out of things to say” after yet another reverse.

The Lions lost 3-1 at the Madejski Stadium but dominated a game where they had 23 shots on goal, nine of them target, mustering 13 corners - only to score one goal for their efforts.

Paul Clement’s side, meanwhile, took their chances as well as finding goalkeeper Anssi Jaakkola in inspired form throughout the afternoon.

The defeat sees the London club slip back into the relegation zone ahead of two crucial home fixtures this week.

Millwall take on Wigan Athletic and fellow-strugglers Ipswich Town at The Den looking to bounce back from yet another defeat.

And after Saturday’s loss, when speaking to the assembled media, Harris was left exasperated admitting he is running out of things to say after another defeat.

“We dominated the game with and without the ball and created chance after chance," Harris said.

“I’ve run out of things to say to you guys. We should have won the game.

“I have been honest with the players. They were great against Nottingham Forest; they deserved three points. Great against Aston Villa, got three points.

"They were great today in so many aspects. We deserved in some ways three points.

"They have got to find it in themselves to stop conceding goals.

“There are only so many sessions you can do on the training pitch; you have to keep clean sheets at this level to win games.”

The Verdict

Neil Harris is running out of things to say as he has said them already and nothing seems to be changing.

Their form is indifferent, and a run of positive results isn’t being put together.

When Millwall take one step forward, they take two steps back the game after and that needs to stop.

With the Lions having a small squad, wholesale changes are not possible, so something has to give to improve their results or face a harsh winter ahead of them.
