Neil Harris has revealed that Lee Tomlin is likely to be available for Cardiff City's trip to QPR tomorrow as he praised the ability of the attacking midfielder.

The 31-year-old was crucial to the Bluebirds last season and was crowned as their Player of the Year but this campaign has been frustrating for Tomlin.

A groin injury has seen him miss the last three games and he was sent off in his last outing, when the team drew with Blackburn Rovers.

However, speaking to Wales Online, Harris gave a positive update on the playmaker as he backed him to make a difference moving forward.

"It's been a good week for Lee! He’s been on the training pitch and we are hoping he can travel with us to QPR. We miss him in the group, his liveliness and chirpiness. It's important for us, personality-wise.

"When we talk about the tight games, the draws, those little moments in games, those fine margins, players of Lee’s ability, he changes those fine margins."

Cardiff are currently 14th in the Championship and have won just two of their opening eight games.

The verdict

This is great news for Cardiff as with Harry Wilson out as well they are lacking a player with creativity in the final third and it has shown in the results, they're drawing too many games.

We all know the ability that Tomlin has and he will be key to helping the team play in a more stylish way.

So, the sooner he is back out on the pitch the better and it sounds as though he will have a role to play against the R's.
