Cardiff goalkeeper Neil Etheridge has praised his side's dramatic second-half comeback as they secured a 3-3 draw against Leeds at Elland Road, which he has claimed is a "very tough place to go".

The Bluebirds found themselves trailing by three goals following Helder Costa's opener followed by Patrick Bamford's brace, but goals from Lee Tomlin, Sean Morrison and Robert Glatzel then saw them secure an unlikely point against the Whites.

Neil Harris would have been looking for a response from this side heading into the match following their defeat to Brentford last time out, but the Cardiff boss needed to wait until the second half for this as Cardiff produced an excellent fight-back.

The result means Cardiff have remained at 12th in the Championship table, but the nature of the point will have been pleasing for Harris, while it also means the 42-year-old has now lost just one of his first six matches in charge.

The Cardiff boss has persisted with Etheridge in between the Cardiff sticks despite having not been at his best of late - with his distribution being a key issue - and he also conceded a penalty on Saturday which saw Bamford score Leeds' third goal.

However, Etheridge's blushes were eventually spared by his teammates who produced an impressive comeback at the other end, and the Cardiff goalkeeper has now taken to Twitter to praise the unlikely result.

The Verdict

There would have been many Cardiff supporters who could have predicted their side's comeback against the Whites, and Etheridge will be particularly relieved given he was at fault for at least one of Leeds' goals after conceding the penalty.

Etheridge's unconvincing form of late means Cardiff's back-up goalkeeper Alex Smithies is now waiting in the wings for his chance back in the side, but the Bluebirds' comeback at Elland Road may have kept Etheridge his place in the side for the time being.

However, there can be no doubt that Etheridge needs to start improving his displays in order to keep his place in the side, particularly seeing as his poor distribution could come to cost Cardiff dearly before long.
