Birmingham City earned another point towards their fight for survival in the Championship on Tuesday night as they drew 0-0 with Brentford in west London.

The Blues saw the likes of Sheffield Wednesday, Wycombe and Coventry City all win earlier on over the Easter Bank Holiday and so knew it was imperative to get their own result on Tuesday.

It was always going to be tough, though, against a Brentford side that is looking to make it into the Premier League this season - though that might well have to be via the play-offs now.

Even so, a big test for the Blues and one they will feel as though they did well in as they earned a point and kept a clean sheet.

Indeed, goalkeeper Neil Etheridge had this to say about the result on Twitter on Wednesday morning:

The Blues have 42 points from their 4o league games so far this season with Rotherham and Sheffield Wednesday both having matches in hand.

It's going to be a tense few weeks at the end of the season, then, but the Blues' players will feel as though they have shown enough in the last few games overall under Lee Bowyer that they can get themselves to safety and that will be the sole aim.
