Many Huddersfield Town supporters have been suggesting that Chris Willock should have established himself as the Terriers’ first choice down the right-hand side after his performance against Bristol City.
Willock, who arrived on loan from Benfica for the rest of the season in January, was handed a chance to impress from the start by Danny Cowley against Bristol City, as the Huddersfield manager looked for a response from his players to the 3-1 defeat suffered at Swansea City last weekend.
Can you name the entire Huddersfield Town XI from their Play-Off final win in 2017?
The 22-year-old was brought in to the side in pace of Elias Kachunga and he was able to provide more of a natural outlet down the right-hand side of the Terriers’ attack, which helped them take control of the game and push Bristol City back into their own half of the field for long periods.
The attacker showed the potential he has to make a real difference for the Terriers in the final third, with an excellent curling strike beyond Daniel Bentley giving him his first goal for the club and giving Huddersfield a deserved breakthrough just six minutes before half time.
Willock continued to be a lively presence throughout his 70 minutes on the field, and he was able to demonstrate the extra pace and trickery he could potentially bring to the starting line-up, if he were to start on a consistent basis between now and the end of the campaign.
Here then, we take a look at what Huddersfield fans have been saying about Willock following his performance against Bristol City…
What a talent that young man Smith-Rowe is he is destined for the top. What a difference playing with a proper winger that can take defences on and score well played Willock. A great team performance #htafc

Best we’ve played in months if not years, Emile Smith-Rowe is wonderful and so is Willock, Kachunga should never start again, Chalobah good since coming on, should’ve scored at least 4 #htafc

Totally different #htafc tonight. Bright, inventive, athletic. Such a difference to Saturday.
Amazing what happens when you play attack minded players. ESR dragged Willock & Grant 20 yards up the pitch every time he got the ball. If we are to stay up then those 3 have to play

Quality performance tonight battled hard, did the simple things right n then let Emile smith Rowe do his thing, that lad oozes class. Willock n obrien not far behind him tonight. Well played town #htafc

What a performance that was, the difference willock brings is massive compared to kache, ESR is class his linkup play was brilliant, great to see grant back on score sheet also and O’brien is superb not one mistake from him but still a sloppy goal to concede #htafc
