Despite a promising run of recent form in the Sky Bet Championship, Reading are currently struggling to make the same kind of impact as last season, with Jaap Stam’s side failing to work their way into top-six contention.
Last night, victory over Cardiff City could have given the Royals the belief that they could push on and challenge the top-six, but Stam was left frustrated at the Madejski Stadium once again, as his side surrendered a two-goal lead.
A Callum Paterson own goal and Mo Barrow’s deflected strike had put Reading in complete control, but late goals from Joe Bennett and Lee Tomlin recused a point for the Bluebirds, leaving Stam’s side 14th following the 2-2 draw.
Yann Kermorgant once again led the line for Reading as he steps up his return to full fitness, with the 36-year-old striker’s performance dividing opinion amongst Reading’s supporters.
Here is some reaction to Kermorgant’s contribution last night…
Kermorgant needs to be dropped immediately. Another extremely poor performance tonight.

I would have taken Yann off after 60 mins. Looks completely off the pace off the match. We badly needed an outlet in the 2nd half.

Yann did fine, just that it was hard for him to get involved in the game. Agree with George too.
I'd have taken Barrow off. Looked shattered.

Form is temporary, class is Kermorgant.

Kermorgant just creates problems for defenders when he’s playing – Patterson felt he had to deal with it. #readingfc

Kermorgant & McShane only ones without gloves. Hard as nails #ReadingFC

Think Stam should have used subs earlier. Barrow could have come off 55-60 mins for me – think Yann could have too. #readingfc

I'd get Bodvarsson on upfront instead of Kermorgant. Could wrap this game up. #readingfc
