Duncan Watmore played 25 minutes of a training game for Sunderland yesterday as he continues to battle back from cruciate ligament damage.

The 24-year-old has been out of action for almost a year after suffering the injury against Millwall last season, the second time he's had to battle back from the same complaint.

He's back out on the grass now, playing in a training game ahead of a possible return for the U23 side. Sunderland tweeted a short clip of him in action, but it isn't the former Altrincham winger who has drawn the comments, but on loan Wigan star, Max Power.

He can been seen flying into a challenge on Watmore and that has divided fans on Twitter. In some areas there's disgust, fears that Power's rather rash challenge could have set him back on his road to recovery.

Others see it as necessary, a challenge that has to be made in order to test reactions. After all, nobody will pull out of any challenges once he's back full time.

Here's both sides of the debate from social media...
