Jordan Rhodes fired Sheffield Wednesday towards another big win in the Sky Bet Championship last night, as the Owls defeated Wycombe Wanderers 2-0 at Hillsborough.

It has been a difficult season for Rhodes, who has made only four league starts for Wednesday having fallen behind Callum Paterson in the pecking order.

But two goals in his last three games have helped the Owls climb out of the relegation zone, after securing two massive wins.

It was Rhodes who opened the scoring against Wycombe on Tuesday night, as the striker met Kadeem Harris' cross and headed in from close-range.

Adam Reach secured three points in the second half, as Wednesday climbed to 21st in the Championship table, albeit with Derby having a game in hand one place below them.

Rhodes is currently in good form, and if he can replicate the form he showed during his time at Huddersfield and Blackburn between now and the end of the season, then he could be a key player going forward.
