Aston Villa secured a hugely important three points at the weekend, defeating Paul Lambert's Ipswich Town by two goals to one.

Dean Smith's men were looking to right their wrongs after a difficult few weeks - a run of one win in eight games had threatened to de-rail their bid for promotion via the play-off places.

But a brace from leading goalscorer Tammy Abraham not only took his personal tally up to 19 goals for the campaign, but also secured an invaluable three points for Villa, despite a late consolation by Freddie Sears.

The result leaves Villa sitting 10th in the Sky Bet Championship table, just four points off the play-off places, however there are still some mistakes they need to iron out.

The Villans still look shaky in defence, with James Chester putting in a below-par performance in the heart of the defence at the weekend.
