‘Needs banning for life’ – Majority of Sheffield Wednesday fans deliver same message following disappointing Lincoln scenes

Sheffield Wednesday cruised to a 3-1 win this afternoon as they saw off Lincoln City in pre-season.

Steve Bruce was in charge and firmly in the dug-out for the game with the League One newcomers, and saw his team comfortably see off their lower league opponents with a fine display of finishing.

Bruce has been linked with a move away from the Owls in recent days, with Newcastle United set to appoint Bruce as their new manager following the departure of Rafa Benitez.

However, it was this story which seemed to overshadow the pre-game build up, and one Wednesday fan seemingly took things too far as he stormed onto the pitch to confront Bruce about his future, before being safely removed by security, as reported by Radio Sheffield reporter, Dom Howson.

This sort of action is not welcome on a football pitch at any level, and those thoughts seemed to be echoed by the majority of Sheffield Wednesday fans, who took to Twitter to voice their displeasure at what is clearly a very embarrassing situation for the club.

With that then, we took a closer look into just what the Owls fans had to say in response to the incident, and it’s safe to say this so called ‘fan’ has not gone down well…
