Sheffield United travel to struggling Barnsley on Sunday aiming to get their form back on track after they suffered a real setback in mid-week with their 2-1 defeat at home to Millwall.

Slavisa Jokanovic’s side managed to secure an important three points in their 2-1 win against Stoke City last weekend and that showed signs that they could get their campaign back on track.

However, the defeat against Millwall in mid-week means that Sheffield United have now suffered three defeats in their last four Championship games.

That has slowed down any progress that the Blades were making under Jokanovic and leaves them with a lot of work still left to do.

This Yorkshire derby clash against Barnsley represents a chance for Sheffield United to get back to winning ways. Considering the current form of the Tykes, who have one just once in the league so far, the pressure will be on the Blades to pick up all three points.

It will be interesting to see whether Jokanovic decides to make many changes from the side that line-up against Millwall in mid-week and it is vital that he gets his selection spot on.

Here, we take a look at the potential starting line-up Jokanovic could select against Barnsley…

Jokanovic has some major headaches ahead of their trip to Barnsley.

Hee might even want to consider a change of shape considering that Morgan Gibbs-White is set to miss out after being sent off for a second yellow against Millwall.

However, the Serbian has stuck with a 4-2-3-1 for most of his tenure at Sheffield United so far. He might decide to try and keep with that shape for the trip to Oakwell.

Robin Olsen should keep his place between the sticks. The Sweden international will be wanting to start keeping more clean sheets now that he has had time to bed into life at Sheffield United.

There were issues with Sheffield United’s defence against Millwall, and Jayden Bogle was brought off for Chris Basham in the second period by Jokanovic. He might though decide to leave him in the side and give him another chance against Barnsley. While Enda Stevens should keep his place.

At the heart of the defence, it does seem like John Egan and Ben Davies will get a run in the side together to build a relationship. The Blades need the pair to be at their best as soon as possible.

Conor Hourihane was handed the chance to impress at the base of midfield by Jokanovic against Millwall, but he failed to take that chance and was brought off for tactical reasons in the opening 45 minutes.

Therefore, you would expect Oliver Norwood to come back in here at his expense and partner John Fleck.

David McGoldrick had less impact for the Blades against Millwall in the number ten role than he did off the bench against Stoke, but he should still get the chance to keep his place here.

While Iliman Ndiaye could get the chance to return to the starting line-up with Gibbs-White set to be suspended for this one. Ben Osborn is likely to keep his place on the left-hand side of the attack.

Billy Sharp should also continue to lead the line for the Blades as well.
