Luton Town take on Huddersfield Town tonight in the first leg of their semi-final play-off game.

Luton have had some injury issues recently which could have been causing them to worry looking ahead to the play-offs.

Top scorer Elijah Adebayo has been struggling with a hamstring issue but manager Nathan Jones was able to provide some positive news as he told in his pre-match press conference: "He's in a real good place so we're happy with that, because it will be really nice to have him available. We're closer very day in terms of that.

"There's some big players that are much, much closer to being available for selection than a week ago for example, so we're in a far better place.

"I've mentioned inadvertently big players and Elijah's a big player for us, so it's far better news on Elijah."

Luke Berry is another player who's season has been constantly disrupted by injuries and has been in a boot. Although Jones ensured this was not as serious as it looked as he said: "Boots are precautionary. They look far worse, you look like a Stormtrooper in one, but they're actually precaution and prevention rather than some disaster has happened.

"Luke is a lot closer, he's just not been able to gather any momentum really as every time he does he kind of breaks down and that stems fro the fact that he was injured in pre-season.

"We've been disappoint with that as Luke has been a big, big miss."

However, it's not positive news all round as midfielder Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu will miss out: "He's had operation so he won't be fit, he's one we won't get back.

"It's just a little cartilage clean up which will keep him out until June, so unless the final gets postponed, we won't be seeing Pelly."

The Verdict:

On the whole, this is really positive news for Luton as they approach the play-offs. Considering Adebayo has been able to contribute 17 goals for his side this season, Jones will be hoping he will be able to have an impact in his side's attacking efforts.

Although Berry won't be back for tonight's game, the fact that he's close can serve as motivation for the Luton side as they know if they can make it further, they will gain more players in their side.

Despite struggling with injuries, Luton were able to finish the season securing their play-off spot and therefore with more options in their side, they should be able to push on in these play-offs.

The games against Huddersfield will be hard but Luton will be hoping that retuning players can help make the difference.
