West Bromwich Albion defender Nathan Ferguson has posted an update on social media following his return to action for the Baggies.

The 19-year-old has risen through the ranks at West Brom and has been able to establish himself as a key player for the first team this season - making 14 appearances in the Championship.

The defender has played a key role in the Baggies promising start to the campaign under Slaven Bilic and has impressed at both left-back and right-back.

The teenager was suspended for three matches following his red card in the 2-2 draw with Charlton Athletic last month, but he returned to action for West Brom earlier this week.

Ferguson was included in the starting line-up at The Hawthorns and played the entire match at right-back, as Albion returned to the top of the Championship table with a convincing 4-1 win over Bristol City.

Following the victory on Wednesday night, Ferugson took to social media on Friday afternoon and sent a message to West Brom with a post on his personal Instagram account, admitting that it was great to return to action for the Baggies.

The Verdict

Ferguson is a very talented footballer and he's been one of the standout players for West Brom in the Championship season. It's a major boost for Bilic to have him available for selection again.

The defender is building a reputation as being one of the most exciting young talents in the Championship and he's going to have a key role to play for in West Brom's promotion push this season.

He's out of contract at the end of the season, though, so it's absolutely vital that Albion are able to get him tied down to a new long-term deal.
