Nathan Baxter has taken to Twitter to share a message with Hull City's supporters after sealing a return to the club.

As confirmed by Hull's official website, Baxter has rejoined the Championship outfit on a season-long loan deal from Chelsea.

This particular agreement includes an option for Hull to purchase the goalkeeper.

Baxter was signed by the Tigers on a temporary basis last year and went on to produce some encouraging performances during the 2021/22 campaign.

Handed his Hull debut in the club's League Cup clash with Wigan Athletic in August, the keeper had to wait until November to make his first league appearance.

Baxter featured on 16 occasions for the Tigers in the second-tier whilst he also represented the club in the FA Cup earlier this year.

With Harvey Cartwright set to play for Peterborough United next season, Baxter will compete with Matt Ingram for a place in Hull's starting eleven.

Ingram signed a new three-year deal with the Tigers last month which will see him remain at the club until 2025.

After the club announced his return to the club, Baxter decided to take to Twitter to share a message with Hull's fans.

The keeper posted: "I never left!

"Buzzing to be back."

The Verdict

This is a really good bit of business by Hull as Baxter demonstrated during the previous term that he is more than capable of delivering the goods in the Championship.

As well as claiming seven clean-sheets at this level, the keeper made 4.1 saves per game and averaged a Sofa Score match rating of 7.35.

Having missed a chunk of the 2021/22 season due to injury, Baxter will be aiming to avoid any setbacks in terms of his fitness in the coming months as he aims to become Hull's first-choice goalkeeper.

With the Tigers set to face Bristol City on July 30th, Baxter will need to showcase his talent in pre-season in order to be given the nod to start in this fixture over Ingram.
