Nahki Wells scored a hat-trick as Queens Park Rangers beat Cardiff 6-1 in the Championship yesterday.

The Bermudan ended a run of nine games without a goal and took his tally up to and over the double-figure mark, with three fine goals last night.

His first opened the scoring, neatly heading home a long ball from Ebere Eze. His second came from the same source as he again headed home from close and his third was the pick of the bunch, turning Neil Etheridge and the Cardiff defenders before firing into the empty net.

He'd been on the receiving end of some criticism from fans of late but after taking home the match ball last night, R's supporters have quickly rediscovered their love for the 29-year-old.

It was a fine team performance. Wells linked up well with, and lead a juvenile attacking-three behind him in Ebere Eze, Bright Osayi-Samuel and Ilias Chair.

It's as good as he's played in a QPR shirt in one-and-a-half seasons at the club, and after the match he posted this on his Instagram:

The win gave QPR their first in four and keeps them 15th, with Middlesbrough hot on their tails in 16th after their recent upturn in form.

Next up for Mark Warburton's side is an FA Cup Third Round tie at home to Swansea City on Sunday, before travelling to Griffin Park to face Brentford the weekend after.
