Bristol City striker Nahki Wells has posted a message to former QPR teammate Eberechi Eze following the two sides' meeting on Saturday afternoon.

Wells made his debut for Bristol City as he came off the bench in the 63rd minute during his new side's 1-0 victory over QPR, with the striker having seen his season-long loan spell at QPR cut short earlier that week in order to mobilise his move to the Robins.

The Bermuda international had enjoyed a fine first half of the season with the Rs as he netted 13 goals in 26 league outings for the Hoops, but this saw him attract transfer interest from the Robins which caused parent club Burnley to recall him.

The frontman then completed his permanent move to Ashton Gate on Thursday evening as the Robins fended off interest from Nottingham Forest and QPR to land him, but it appears that Wells is now making light of the situation despite his QPR exit.

The former Burnley man took to Instagram to share an image of him battling for the ball with Eze accompanied with the caption "Yo Ebz stop fouling me man".

The Verdict

It would have been a huge blow for QPR to lose Wells' services towards the end of the window given his impressive goalscoring form this term, while this would have been made worse by the fact he featured against the Rs during his City debut on Saturday.

Many Hoops supporters would have feared that Wells would come back to haunt his former side after coming off the bench during the clash and while he did not find the target, it was ultimately Wells who had the last laugh as his side won 1-0.

Wells' light-hearted message to Eze suggests he still holds a close relationship with his former QPR teammates including Eze, but he will now be fully focused on City's promotion bid this term as he aims to live up to expectations at Ashton Gate.
