Bristol City have returned to training ahead of the Championship’s proposed restart, with Lee Johnson’s men back through the door and hoping for the opportunity to restart and push on for the play-offs.

A ball hasn’t been kicked in the Championship since the first weekend of March, with a break stretching almost three months halting the Football League.

For the Robins, they are hovering narrowly outside the play-off places, sweating on the season’s resume as they look to cash in on a chance to qualify for the play-offs and challenge for promotion to the Premier League.

After a tough period, things are finally starting to look like getting back to normal, with players up and down the Championship returning to training, albeit with strict guidelines.

For Wells, he took to Twitter to share an image on his return to training, alongside a simple, three-word caption:

Wells, 29, was brought to Ashton Gate in the January transfer window on the back of a productive first-half of the season on loan with Queens Park Rangers.

Since arriving in the South West, Wells has scored two goals in eight Championship appearances.

The Verdict  

It’s been a tough three-month period for the whole world, with football players, fans and clubs really struggling.

Such has been the difficulty of the postponement, the return to training is big, big news, with everyone delighted to see things getting back to normal.

That’s the case for Nahki Wells and Bristol City, certainly.
