The Verdict

With Pearson getting a full pre-season to rebuild the squad in the way he sees fit, surely things have to get better at Ashton Gate next season.

They would have been expecting to push for the play-offs last season and ended in 19th which is bitterly disappointing, but if they can get their existing players back to full fitness then the Robins will be in a much stronger position.

As for Wells, he will be looking to add to his 10 goals from the season just gone - it wasn't a bad tally to rack up by any means but for a player that cost as much as he did, City fans will have been expecting a 20-goal a season striker and with the right service around him that's what he could be in 2022.
