Tomas Kalas was one of Bristol City's best performers last season as he made 41 appearances in all competitions during a loan spell from Premier League club Chelsea.

Having signed permanently in the summer though for a club record fee, Kalas found himself on the sidelines just four games into the Championship season after tearing a hamstring against Hull City on 24th August.

Since then, the emergence of Taylor Moore, the free agent signing of Wales captain Ashley Williams and the return to fitness of Bailey Wright and Nathan Baker has seen City's defence remain in steady hands as they went on a 10-game unbeaten run before losing to Luton Town last Saturday.

Kalas was on the books of Chelsea for the past nine seasons and had various loan spells away from Stamford Bridge, but has now settled in permanently in the South of Bristol.

The 26 year-old is predominantly a powerful centre-back who isn't afraid to head or kick the ball in any scenario, and Bristol City fans will be delighted to see that the Czech Republic international is back in training.
