Sunderland owner Stewart Donald has revealed just how much he loves the club as they prepare for another promotion push from League One.

There had been thoughts that the businessman would look to sell this summer and Donald did admit to the official site that extra investment coming in is a possibility.

However, he also stressed just how much he enjoys his current role, indicating that he won't look to sell a majority state in the club.

"There’s nowhere I’d prefer to be than at Sunderland. Once you’ve watched football here and you’ve been in with the fans - you realise it's the place to be. It’s a great football club and I don’t think there’s a better one."

Even though it was ultimately a disappointing end to the season for the Black Cats, Donald is a very popular figure on Wearside having repaired the relationship between the fans and the club after a dismal few years.
