Birmingham City manager Garry Monk will be holding his breath as deadline day approaches in this transfer window, with Southampton expected to make an offer for highly-rated Blues striker Che Adams, according to a report in the print edition of the Sun on Sunday (January 27, Page 63).

With the Blues under the spotlight from the EFL for Financial Fair Play, they may struggle to hold onto their top-scorer if a suitable offer comes in for the player.

So, if a sizeable bid from Southampton comes in, should Birmingham sell?

We discuss.....

Louie Chandler

"My head says yes and my heart says no.

"In their financial predicament the sensible thing to do would be to cash in on the striker and stabilise as a club.

"But on the other hand, they are within touching distance of the play-offs and it would be a shame to see them throw in the towel."

Jacob Potter

"They must hold onto him at all costs.

"Adams’ goals have been the main reason as to why Birmingham are remaining within touching distance of the play-offs.

"If they have any ambition, Birmingham will do everything they can to keep hold of him."

Gary Hutchinson

“Not if they can’t use the funds, no.

“What’s the point? Weaken the side for no reason?

“It might help in the summer, but if that’s the case sell in the summer.

“There’s absolutely nothing to be gained by losing him now.”
