Today is the 12th anniversary of the day Stoke City's secured promotion to the Premier League, which has drawn an emotional response from many fans of the club.

Things haven't quite gone the Potters way since their 10-year stint in the top flight of English football came to an end in 2018 but the preceding decade was a fantastic one for the club.

On this day 12 days ago, Tony Pulis' side drew with Leicester City on the final day of the season to secure a second-place finish and promotion to the Premier League.

The result would mean that Leicester was relegated while Stoke held onto the second automatic promotion place after Hull City's defeat to Ipswich Town.

The Potters took to Twitter today to post a throwback of the celebrations at the final whistle, which included a pitch invasion at the Bet365 Stadium.

Unsurprisingly, the anniversary and the video of the celebrations has been well-received by Potters fans, with many taking to Twitter to express their excitement.
