Birmingham City have confirmed Senior Professional Development coach Richard Beale has left the club by mutual consent.

Beale joined the club in 2003 and he worked his way through the academy coaching ranks to eventually become Blues' Under 21s and Under 23s coach for the past eight seasons.

He departs after helping guide the Under 23s to their highest league position in recent times, as they finished runners-up in the Professional Development League 2 North.

Beale was a key figure in the development of several Blues' academy graduates, including Nathan Redmond, Jack Butland and Demarai Gray.

Birmingham confirmed news of his departure via their Twitter account on Thursday:

He becomes the latest figure to depart St Andrew's this summer following in the path of manager Garry Monk, as well as key players Che Adams, Michael Morrison and Jota.

Plenty of Birmingham fans responded to news of this latest departure, with many condemning the state of the club at present.
