Reports from the Mirror have revealed that Jaap Stam is working on a deal to bring former loanee Ola John back to the Madejski.

The Dutch winger enjoyed a successful loan spell at Reading during the 2015/16 season and now it seems that the club are intent on bringing the now 25-year-old back on a permanent basis.

Whilst his flamboyant and fast-paced style entertained the Royals’ fans, last season was a different story for the player.

A failed loan spell at Wolves saw his time there cut short and an equally uneventful short loan at Deportivo made sure that the previous campaign was one to forget for John.

Following on from their painful penalty-shootout loss to Huddersfield in the play-off final last season, Reading haven’t begun this new venture in the most positive of ways.

One win, one draw, and two defeats and Stam’s side find themselves sat in 18th place in the Championship table after four games.

Obviously, there is plenty more football to be played but perhaps another forward-thinking player can help the Royal’s recapture their best form.

But what do the club’s fans think of these rumours? FLW writer Adam Goacher has taken to Twitter to see what the Reading fans make of the Ola John link...
