Aitor Karanka’s Nottingham Forest will be looking for their first victory of the Sky Bet Championship season this evening, with West Bromwich Albion heading to the City Ground.

It was a tough start to the season for Karanka’s side on Saturday, with Bristol City holding the Reds to a 1-1 draw at Ashton Gate.

On paper, Forest’s squad look very good, but there were signs on Saturday that it might take time for Karanka’s new-look outfit to gel and make a real impact in a tough Championship.

Tonight, West Brom will hand Forest a huge test, but the Baggies themselves struggled on the opening day of the season, with West Brom handing Darren Moore’s side a harsh lesson at the Hawthorns.

Here at FLW, we take a look at Karanka’s playing squad available for tonight, identifying the starting XI we believe that Forest need to be fielding against West Brom…

Pantilimon is a good goalkeeper, who will continue to be Forest’s first choice.

Darikwa started the season at right-back, and although we know that Forest want another body on board, he should continue tonight.

Dawson has brought some real experience to this squad.

It’d be a surprise to see Karanka taking him out of his starting XI.

Figueiredo was on the bench at the weekend, but there’s little doubt that he’s a better option than Danny Fox.

Karanka needs to get Dawson and Figueiredo playing together regularly.

Faith has been placed in Osborn at left-back.

That should continue this evening.

Watson is Forest’s captain and a key part of how Karanka’s side will want to play.

Guedioura was superb at the weekend, and if Karanka can keep the midfielder fit, he will be important to Forest.

Lolley was another on the bench at the weekend, but Karanka needs to get him back involved from the start.

Carvalho will be looking to get his Forest career up and running as soon as possible.

Tonight, at the City Ground, could be perfect.

Like Carvalho, we know Goncalves has talent, which is waiting to be unearthed.

Karanka will want to see Goncalves in full flight at tonight’s home fixture.

Daryl Murphy played and scored on Saturday, but Grabban is clearly going to be the main man going forward this season.

In a home fixture, against two big West Brom centre-backs, Grabban would certainly be the better option here.
