With their promotion dreams having been extinguished by Derby County last week, Leeds United's attention can now turn to the transfer window.

And having come so close this season, Marcelo Bielsa and the powers that be at Elland Road must be confident of going one better in 2020 - if they get their transfer business right.

Helping them out is former Whites striker Noel Whelan, who told Football Insider that he wants to see his former club unearth some gems this summer.

The way Norwich City scouted out Teemu Pukki impressed him immensely and thinks it is a method that Leeds should copy.

But is he right?

We discuss...

Toby Wilding

"Leeds badly missed a 20 goal striker this season, but rather than go out and get another, I wonder if they have already got one.

"Despite missing around a quarter of the season through injury, Kemar Roofe still managed to hit 15 goals this season, and you feel he could have hit the 20 goal mark had he been available for the full campaign.

"Admittedly they may want an additional alternative option, but keeping him fit and securing his future at the club could be just as important for Leeds next season."

Ben Lang

"I think this certainly seems a sensible approach given the success of Pukki at Norwich this season.

"Radrizzani says that Leeds could be in for a difficult transfer window, but they can reduce any of their troubles by deploying a detailed recruitment strategy.

"If Bielsa stays, I'm sure he will leave no stone unturned. He will only target players suited to his style of play and this could mean that Leeds could take a left-field approach in their signings."

Louie Chandler

"It is much easier said than done.

"I am sure Leeds would love to go out and bring in somebody like Pukki on the cheap who will score nearly 30 goals next season.

"But Norwich's scouting network and transfer policy was not crafted in a few weeks and I would suspect Leeds are a fair way behind them in that respect."
