Aston Villa

Moving to QPR has to be an option for this Aston Villa midfielder

Queens Park Rangers manager Ian Holloway will be delighted with the way his side have begun the new campaign, with seven points already in the bag after four opening fixtures.

Tipped to struggle this year, the R’s are beginning to prove their doubters wrong, and Holloway will hope to improve his squad in the coming weeks to ensure this excellent start to the season is continued.

Midfield is an area Holloway is keen to strengthen, and a move for Gary Gardner of Aston Villa is reportedly on the cards.

The 25-year-old is surplus to requirements at Villa Park having spent the majority of his senior career out on loan, and Holloway is keen to bring the player to Loftus Road.

Gardner has spent the last couple of years on loan at Nottingham Forest, but the Reds are not in the running to launch a permanent bid for the player, now that Mark Warburton is at the helm.

The player has the ability to chip in with a goal or two from midfield, and spreading goals throughout the squad will certainly appeal to Holloway.

A permanent switch away from Villa is what Gardner needs to get his career back on track, and he is young enough to establish himself at QPR.

Good form in west London could even be enough to earn the player a Premier League move, and he should certainly consider any offer that comes his way.

Would you be happy to see Gardner at Loftus Road, R’s fans?
