It has been six long years in exile for former Premier League club, Sheffield United, but following a remarkable campaign last season in which the Blades walked to the title, Chris Wilder’s men can now look forward to the challenges ahead at the higher level.

The South Yorkshire side open their campaign at home to Brentford this Saturday, and fans will hope their side can get off to the perfect start by picking up the points against Dean Smith’s men.

Wilder has moved to improve his squad this summer by picking up a number of the lower levels of the Football League’s brightest talents, including John Lundstram and Enda Stevens, but now Wilder is reportedly looking further up the football pyramid, and considering a move for Huddersfield forward Joe Lolley.

The Redditch born winger was picked up by the Terriers from Kidderminster Harriers in 2014, and has made 74 league appearances in three years at the club.

Following their surprise promotion to the Premier League, Lolley could be available this summer having seen himself fall down the pecking order at the John Smith’s Stadium, with manager David Wagner spending big as he attempts to keep his side up.

Lolley is a fantastic young player, and the 24-year-old would be a wonderful addition to the squad at Bramall Lane.

The player has proven himself adept at this level, and 8 goals during his spell at Huddersfield is certainly something he would look to improve upon should a move to the Terriers Yorkshire rivals materialise.

Wilder is probably another signing or two short of completing his squad, and will know that depth and quality in his squad is essential to survival.

Lolley would thrive at Bramall Lane in a Blades squad with ambitions of one day reaching the Premier League once more, and is young enough to further prove his worth at this level.

With top flight ambitions of his own, a move to Sheffield could be perfect for Lolley to shine, and Wilder should look to tie up a deal for the player before the window closes in September.

Would Lolley be a welcome addition at Bramall Lane, Blades fans?
