Plymouth Argyle's Freddie Lapado is hot property right now and some of League One's best are after him.

According to Plymouth Live, Rotherham United and Sunderland are targeting the 26-year-old striker, who scored 18 goals in the league last year.

A bid from Rotherham has allegedly been accepted as per the report, however, Sunderland remain in the race. Ladapo only has 12 months remaining on his current deal, which he penned last summer. However, with Lapado having some of League One's top clubs after him, which would suit him the best and be the best for his career? We discuss..

George Brooks

"Lapapo was outstanding for Plymouth last season and would be a good signing for either Rotherham or Sunderland.

"Both teams will be expected to challenge for promotion to the Championship next season, so they'd both be good options for him.

"He needs to consider his options very carefully and move to a team where he will play an important role, but I personally feel that he is good enough to make an impact for both sides, given his experience in the third tier.

"For me, I'd want to move to Sunderland and try to win the League One title.

"Ladapo scored 18 league goals for Plymouth last season and deserves a chance to play for one of the top teams in the league."

Kealan Hughes

"Portsmouth, Sunderland and Rotherham are all rumoured to be interested and each side will be targeting promotion next season, so he has quite a difficult decision on his hands with regard to where he goes.

"Sunderland would be the obvious choice, playing in the Stadium of Light and in front of a potential crowd of more than 40,000 people is what football is all about, and with a proven goalscorer like Ladapo, Sunderland would have the extra edge they lacked last season.

"However he would be under real pressure to produce in the north-east, and if he doesn't start well he could face difficulty finding form and confidence - particularly as the fans are anxious for immediate success.

"Despite that, Sunderland are the best bet for promotion out of the three, so if Ladapo wants to play in the Championship he should do all he can to go there."

Tommy Joyce

"For £500,000, I think Ladapo is a good signing for a high-end League One side - and I think that the best move for him would have to be Sunderland.

"The ex-Crystal Palace striker was the sixth top scorer in the division and with only a year remaining on his current deal, it would be silly for one of them to not snap him up.

"When you consider that Will Grigg cost £4million, Ladapo for an eighth of the price seems a good deal.

"Not only does he have good finishing ability, but his physical attributes are what set him aside in this league, he’s very quick and strong and can get in behind defences if provided with the right quality.

"Sunderland need a striker, and could really do with some pace and mobility up front. Things got a bit static towards the end of last season and strikers weren't scoring enough of their goals - hopefully Lapado could rectify that."
