Ipswich Town are enduring a tough season and last night's 3-2 defeat against Bristol City only compounds the misery.

They tried going with a League One boss, Paul Hurst, but that didn't work and they've now gone to a tried and tested man in Paul Lambert. He's got his work cut out ensuring the Tractor Boys stay out of the third tier themselves after struggling all season.

They've looked short on attacking intent and that has left them floundering and desperate for goals. Trying to go a little more route one hasn't helped as they've not been able to find a decent target man, someone to get on the end of crosses or long clearances.

Jordan Roberts has been looking out of his depth for the Tractor Boys and if there's going to be change, Paul Lambert will need to find a good old fashioned centre forward to spark their revival.

FLW thinks we can help him in his search.

Smith is a beast, there's no doubt about that and he looks likely to leave QPR one way or another in January.

He wouldn't be a long term fix, but he's certainly the type of player the ball sticks to up front, alleviating pressure on the midfielders and giving others something to feed from.

Stockley has impressed in League Two and whilst their other lower league players have been a mixed back, we think this one would be a great signing.

The former Aberdeen player is a traditional centre forward, brisk and commanding but able to put the ball in the net.

He has to be worth more than a second look, surely?

This one might not be the obvious choice, but Pitman was superb for Portsmouth last season bagging goals galore.

He's fallen out of favour and has recently been dropped for Ollie Hawkins, but his record last season speaks for itself.

He's a former Ipswich player too and wouldn't take long to settle in.
