Brighton and Hove Albion have again put themselves in prime position for automatic promotion from the Sky Bet Championship.

Following last season’s heart breaking finale, which saw Chris Hughton’s side miss out on automatic promotion to Middlesbrough and then to Sheffield Wednesday in the Play-Offs, fans will be hoping 2017 is the year the Seagulls make it to the top-flight.

Hughton’s side have recorded some impressive victories this season, including a 5-0 battering of Norwich City and a recent 2-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday.

Lewis Dunk has put in a number of impressive performances in central defence, whilst striker Glenn Murray is the club’s top scorer this season.

Anthony Knockaert has mesmerised on the flanks for the Seagulls, and takes a lot of praise from the Brighton faithful.

Brighton’s key players are likely to attract a lot of interest during the summer, and here is a look at TWO more that could find themselves in demand come the transfer window…

David Stockdale

Stockdale has arguably kept Brighton’s promotion hopes alive this season, with the goalkeeper keeping his side in many games.

The 31-year old saved a penalty in a fixture against Brentford earlier this month, as Brighton picked up a valuable point with a 3-3 draw.

The former Fulham goalkeeper also made a crucial penalty save in last month’s victory over Sheffield Wednesday, when the match was tied at 1-1.

Stockdale has proved he is the best goalkeeper in the Championship this season, playing a massive part in Brighton’s success.

With Newcastle United’s goalkeeper Karl Darlow receiving plenty of attention from Chelsea, Stockdale is bound to also be on the radar of some Premier League clubs.

Sam Baldock

Baldock was Brighton’s hero in last Saturday’s victory over Barnsley, scoring twice and keeping the Seagulls ahead of the chasing pack in the race for promotion.

Glenn Murray has taken a lot of the plaudits for his 16 goals this season, but Baldock has impressed, chipping in with nine league goals.

The striker’s tireless running for the team, makes him the perfect partner for either Murray or Tomer Hemed in attack for Hughton’s team.

The 27-year old has a big part to play in Brighton’s push for promotion, as he proved on Saturday.

More performances like that are likely to bring Baldock to the attention of both Championship and Premier League clubs.
