Sheffield United were superb last season on their return to the Sky Bet Championship, with Chris Wilder’s side surprising many by competing for the play-offs.

Key to their success was the partnership of Billy Sharp and Leon Clarke, with the experienced strikers scoring plenty of goals.

Clarke made 39 appearances for the Blades, with the 33-year-old returning an impressive 19 goals to finish amongst the Championship’s top goalscorers.

He, along with Sharp, fired Wilder’s side to play-off contention, and although the Blades couldn’t get over the line, they will look back on the 2017/18 campaign fondly.

The new season is now fast approaching, with Wilder looking to shake things up at Bramall Lane.

Here at FLW, we wanted to know if Sheffield United’s supporters were expecting to Clarke once again be a regular in Wilder’s starting XI.

Clarke was superb last season, yet despite his popularity in South Yorkshire and goalscoring form last season, voters in our poll aren’t expecting to see the striker starting regularly.

57% of voters in our poll surprisingly don’t see Clarke as a guaranteed starter, whilst 43% can see the striker continuing as the focal point of Wilder’s attack.
